Temat: The high symbolic value of the former Konstantynow mast
...the Polish broadcasting company was at those days. They built something which was at least 1.8 times taller than each other man-made object in Poland was!
In no other European countries one beated the national tallest structure by such a great factor since in France Eiffel Tower was constructed in 1887 ( it surpassed Rouen Cathedral, France’s tallest structure before by factor 2, Konstantynow Radio Mast surpassed Poland’s record holder in 1972, Olsztyn TV Mast by factor 1.8).
Interestingly nowhere in Europe outside former Soviet Union one was so encouraged to build
something from similar height, although there may have been surely enough money available, if there was a strong will!
A few years after the radio mast of Konstantynow was completed several damages on its structure occurred whose repairs were very difficult and one was even not able to repaint it properly in 1985 as result of not having...
